Which Spanish Bible Should We Use?
by Allen Johnson of the B.E.A.M.S. Bearing Precious Seed Ministry
If you know anything about this issue you know that the Reina-Valera 1960, published by the modernist Bible societies, is not trustworthy. It is not the objective of this small analysis to verify that. For more information about the corruption in the 1960 please read the article, “Testing the Reina-Valera 1960 Spanish Translation: Its Texts, Translators, Technique, and Theology.” But maybe your question is, Which Spanish Bible should I use since there are so many alternatives? The purpose of this analysis is to simply present some comparisons to help the reader in the choice of a trustworthy Spanish Bible. There are several groups of brethren working on this issue. To God be the glory for the arduous work of restoration and purification of the holy scriptures! I am not against any group (other than the modernist Bible societies) but I do support and defend the 1602 Valera Purified. I will attempt to be objective in presenting a brief summary of why in the following analysis:
Bible: Description:
KJV King James Version
1602-P Valera 1602 Purified Bible
(Grace Bible Baptist Church – Monterrey, Mexico – Pastor Raul Reyes)
RVG Revision of the 1909 Valera by Humberto Gomez in 2004
1865 Revision of the 1602 Valera Bible by Mora and Pratt in 1865
1909 Revision of the 1602 Valera Bible by the British Foreign Bible Society in 1909
1960 Corrupt revision of the “Reina-Valera” by the Bible Societies of Latin America in 1960

It is important to note that this analysis is not exhaustive but simply a small example of 25 verses with more or
less discrepancies in different revisions. The 1960, for example, has hundreds of other corrupted verses. For
